We have all settled into our new class really well and love being part of the Hedgehogs family! There are so many exciting activities and new experiences to enjoy and learn from. Here is some of the work we have been doing during this half term......

Watch Humpty Dumpty & More Kids Songs - Super Simple Songs | Prime Video

We have been learning about Nursery Rhymes. We were able to re-tell our favourite rhymes using puppets and props in the role play area

During our Funky Fingers sessions we do a variety of activities which strengthen our finger muscles in readiness for mark-making and writing

It's not a STICK, it's a.....

Using the text Stanley's Stick as a starting-point, we have been using our imagination to think of many different uses for our stick. These included a wizard's wand, fishing rod, triceratops, light sabre, guitar and drumstick!

Outdoor Learning

We loved our whole school trip to Hundred Acres Wood! We spent the morning collecting and identifying leaves, naming trees and observing the similarities and differences of plant life in the woods

Physical Growing Time

The children have been developing their gross motor skills by practising riding on scooters, trikes and bikes. We have also developed our muscles through parachute play!

If frogs sits on logs, what do these animals sit on?

Rays sit on trays....

Lions sit on irons...

Snakes sit on rakes!

We have been enjoying rhythmic activities, poems and rhymes, as well as practising how to continue a rhyming string, having fun with words!

Clever Counting!

The children have been counting in lots of different ways. Counting more and fewer loose parts, playing interactive counting games to 20 and joining in lots of number rhymes and songs

Self-Portraits

We all painted pictures of ourselves, paying close attention to the detail on our faces
