Missing dinosaur on the loose!
During English the children explored the story ‘Tyrannosaurus Drip’ by Julie Donaldson. The children discovered that a dinosaur has been sneaking around Squirrels Classroom! They used their detective skills to investigate the clues and create a lost poster. The had dissected the dinosaur poo to discover if the dinosaur was a herbivore, omnivore or carnivore! The children reported on the events of the discovery and created a Newtown News report.
Design and Technology
The children designed their very own car using wheels and axles. They tested them out and evaluated their design. Take a look at the children's fantastic creations!
A trip to 100 Acre Woods!
Squirrels Class had a wonderful time bug hunting, making bug hotels and den building! Our focus for our longitudinal study is mini-beasts. We found beetles, woodlice and worms. We will go back in the Spring to find out what has changed and what new mini-beasts we can find.
Let's Investigate!
The children took part in investigations to find out:
How the steepness of a ramp affects the distance a car travels.
How different materials on the ramp affect the speed a car travels.
